Description

Optimal CareTech is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team and make a positive impact in the lives of individuals in need. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing essential assistance and care to our clients, empowering them to lead fulfilling and independent lives.

Responsibilities:
- Assist clients with personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, while preserving their privacy and dignity.
- Support clients' daily living activities, such as meal preparation, housekeeping, and transportation to appointments or activities.
- Build meaningful relationships with clients, offering empathy and emotional support to enhance their well-being.
- Encourage social interaction and community participation, reducing isolation and fostering a sense of belonging.
- Implement strategies to manage challenging behaviors and seek guidance from professionals when needed.
- Maintain accurate records of client interactions, progress, and incidents, ensuring effective communication with the support team.
- Advocate for clients, promoting their rights and ensuring their needs are met within their care plans.
- Identify potential safety risks and take appropriate precautions to maintain a secure environment for clients.

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent (a degree in a related field is advantageous).
- Prior experience in caregiving, social work, or a related field is desirable.
- Empathy, patience, and a non-judgmental approach to support individuals with diverse needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build meaningful connections with clients and their families.
- Ability to adapt to changing situations and work effectively in a team environment.
- Basic knowledge of medical conditions, disabilities, and mental health issues.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- A valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation (if required for the role).
